Review of Deep Woods by Helena Newbury

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Bethany Meier and Cal Whittaker. When this book opens we find that Bethany is just leaving her double shift at the call center when she hears a noise. What she finds is a dog wrapped in bailing twine. She frees the dog and takes him home to patch him up. She returns to the same spot with him the next day to see if she can find his owner. She does and it is Cal. The story he tells her doesn't make sense to her but she can't really dispute it since she is the one to patch up the dog. He tells her the dog ran after a cat since this is his first time seeing one. After this the man and the dog leave but they leave a lasting impression on her. Six months later her boss tells her they are having cut backs at this location but she is being offered a position at another location and if she takes it now they will give her a bonus. If not then she is immediately out on the street. With the student loan debt she had she choose to change locations. Little does she know her work was really a front for a sex trafficking ring with very important men heading it up. From the moment Cal meets Bethany he knows there is something special about her. He however doesn't believe that a monster like him deserves her kind of beauty. He can't forget her though no matter how hard he tries. While out on a hunting trip his dog's ears pick up and he runs off into the woods. In fact he runs right to the very woman he is trying to forget. When he hears what has happened to her and that their are other women still being held captive he knows he needs to help. What happens when he learns the full scope of what is going on with this woman will he keep her and hopefully give them both the HEA they deserve or is signing both of their death sentences?

This is another amazing story by this author. It does have ups and downs I really want to tell you about. Oh there is so much more I want to tell you. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will hook you from the first word and not let go till the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
