Review of Trick Play by Alison Hendricks

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Phoebe Maguire and Alexander Wright.  When this book opens Alexander Wright is in court for a speeding ticket. This is not just any going slightly over the speed limit this is 110 in a 35 and Phoebe isn’t going to let the celebrity just slide. So when they are all in court the judge issues his ruling and it is one that Phoebe never thought she would hear he gets community service. This includes coaching the peewee football team, for which her daughter is a part of. Then things only get more complicated for Phoebe when Alex rents the house right next to hers. Phoebe isn’t looking for love she is just looking to have a happy calm life with her daughter. What happens when Alex shows her that there are good men out in the world? Will she hold what he did and who he is against him or will she let down her walls and really give him a chance?

Alex is sick of his life but he doesn’t know what he wants to do now. So when he gets this ticket he counts it as a time to reflect and figure out what he wants to do next. Alex never saw himself as a person who wanted anything to do with kids but when he meets Phoebe’s daughter Carrie he begins to rethink that. Mind you he isn’t signing up to have any of his own anytime soon but he doesn’t mind this little girl. Can Alex learn what he wants out of life and will it lead him to Phoebe and Carrie or does his path lead somewhere else?

This is a great story about two people who are at a crossroads in their life. What they decide will affect not only them but the people around. This book contains many twists that I want to tell you all about but don’t want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
