I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
In this book we meet Ethan and Miranda. When thinks start out for these two it is in a way that neither expects or puts together as that is the other person. When this book opens Miranda is asking the Sinclair foundation to hep with a donation to help with their Christmas program at the center. This is at the same time as her best friend Emily is asking Grady for help as well. Evan is offended for some reason that she would ask this of the foundation and by the time he reads it he knows he is to late anyway. Miranda is use to taking care of everything herself so when she doesn't hear back from the foundation she isn't surprised but when she gets a new friend from what she thinks is the foundation she is very cautious about what she says and finds a true friend during these times. Little did she know how much those simple emails would change her.
Ethan knows that by coming to Amesport to meet his new nephew it would bring him in the same sphere as Miranda. For some reason every-time he is near this woman he is both excited to see her and finds a way to repel her. Ethan wishes he could talk to Miranda the same way he does with his online friend that he has had an online pen pal relationship with for a while now. He knows he needs to try harder but there is something about her that he just can't explain. One snow storm changes everything for him. While shopping for her to ride out the winter his sister makes a comment that makes him think he may have found the perfect way to get to know Miranda a whole lot better without having to put himself out there. What happens though when what he thought was something innocent blows up in his face?
This book is an amazing story about overcoming your past to find something that is perfect for you in the long run. I like how this author addresses an issue that most people just take as one of those things that don't matter any more. However to the people going through it, it is something very important to them. In this book we also see the old women of this town are at it again. The reason I think these characters are important is in small towns everywhere we all have these two and most people would blow them off as the town weirdos but in this book we see them as more. This book will show you love can rise from the ashes of a past as well as there is nothing in life that should hold you back. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
