Review of Detective Bear by Scarlett Grove

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we get Gauge Stockwell's Story and we meet Lola Lockheart. When this book opens up we go slightly and find out how Gage ended up on this undercover operation to take down the drugs on Fate Mountain. Gage is looking for his mate in-fact he signed up when Cory started the app but so far he has had no luck. The day he has to begin his undercover operation his mate is found. The problem is he can't go after her and make her his and his bears and the bear isn't happy about this. So when he gets to the camp he is shock at what he finds there. Will he be able to bring down the drug operation in Fate Mountain and get his mate or will he have to sacrifice one to get the other?

Lola is a prisoner in a camp up on the mountain. When she was 10 Lola's mom married Justin's dad and things only went down hill from there. Lola's mom was later murdered. Lola is sure her step-brother was somehow involved in her mother's death but she could never prove it so the case is still unsolved. The problem Lola has is Justin is 10 years older than her and has been keeping her a prisoner since the day her mother died. She knows she has no skills since her stepfather pulled her out of school before she finished high school. All she wants is to get away but when she signs up for mate.com she is sure that it must all be a joke because though it says she has a mate there is no picture and no information on him. Can she hold out for the man she is suppose to be with or will fate deal her another cruel blow before it is all said and done?

This is another amazing book in this series. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend that you read her other books in this series and the Bear patrol series to understand some of the references. This book has a lot of push and pull scenes in it. There are times you aren't sure who you want to root for her or him. Both of them understand what being together can do to them but both of them need and deserve something amazing in their life. I would like to tell you so much about this book but I don't want to ruin and of the surprises. So I will say this is an amazing book that I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
